Places to visit near the accommodation
Nuestra Casa is located on Rruga Bilal Golemi in the southern part of Tirana, close to residential streets, local cafés and the area commonly known as Blloku. Several of the city’s principal green spaces and cultural landmarks can be reached from the property without travelling to the outer districts.
The Blloku district lies north of Rruga Bilal Golemi and is one of Tirana’s best-known areas for dining, cafés and evening activity. During the communist period, the area was associated with senior political leaders and was not generally accessible to the public. Today, visitors find restaurants, coffee shops, bars, small businesses and streets with contemporary urban architecture. The district is most suitable for visitors interested in Tirana’s current food, social and commercial scene.
Grand Park of Tirana is the city’s main large public park. Its paths extend around the Artificial Lake and through landscaped areas with trees, lawns and recreational spaces. Visitors can walk, cycle, sit by the water and observe local outdoor life. The park also includes cafés, playgrounds and areas used for exercise. It provides a substantial open-air attraction near Nuestra Casa and is separate from the dense central-city streets.
Tirana Zoo is situated within the wider Grand Park area. It presents animals in an educational and recreational setting and is particularly relevant for visitors travelling with children. Its location allows it to be combined with a walk beside the Artificial Lake and through the surrounding park.
The National Botanical Garden of Albania is also in the southern park area, near the Artificial Lake. It contains collections of plants arranged for botanical and educational purposes, including species associated with Albania and other regions. The garden offers a quieter alternative to the busier streets around Blloku and central Tirana.
The Pyramid of Tirana stands farther north, toward the central part of the city. Built in the 1980s as a museum dedicated to Enver Hoxha, it has since been adapted for cultural, educational and creative uses. Its distinctive concrete structure is a notable example of late-communist architecture and can be included with visits to central Tirana.
For a wider city visit, Nuestra Casa also provides a starting point for exploring Skanderbeg Square, the National History Museum area, Et’hem Bey Mosque and the Clock Tower. These landmarks are concentrated in Tirana’s historic centre and represent the city’s principal civic, religious and museum district.
